December's ArtWalk is one of the busiest and most joyful of the year, with lots of people visiting and lots of local art being snapped up as gifts in this holiday month. Many galleries have the artists in-house to talk to you about their work and even sign it to add a special touch. This ArtWalk will have a bit of a somber pall cast over the cheer as the focus will be the late Wayne Ditch and the retrospective "A Celebration of Wayne Ditch" at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. It is a show put together heroically fast - less than two weeks - a testament to not only how the artistic community bands together to help one another but to how devoted fans, friends and family remain to Ditch, both to his work and the man himself. Be sure to stop by the AcA and see this celebration and grab a glass of cocoa or wine and raise it to Wayne Ditch. He loved ArtWalk and its spirit and would want you to do the same.
