Baby, it's cold outside but it's hot inside the James D. Moncus Theater at Acadiana Center for the Arts tonight at Lil' Band O'Gold's Swamp Pop Christmas Pageant.

Last night the performance was in Lake Charles followed by performances tonight and tomorrow at AcA. Now, here is bad news, good news and great news. Bad news is, as of confirmation this very morning, the Dec. 9 show is sold out. Good news is tonight's show is not. Great news is it is an awesome show.

Lil' Band O'Gold is a stocking stuffed with holiday cheer and year-round talent like Dickie Landry, Tommy McClain, David Egan, CC Adcock, Richard Comeaux, David Ranson, Pat Breaux and Steve Riley. They band together for performances infused with joie de vivre and South Louisiana swerve.

What is swamp pop? It's Cajun and zydeco tunes melded with rock'n'roll. In other words, if Warren Storm and T.K. Hulin had been Elvis. It takes the best of Louisiana's indigenous musical genres and weaves them with another Delta creation, rock'n'roll.

The show starts at 8 p.m. You can buy tickets or get more information by calling 233-7060 or going here.

If you can't make either performance or you can acquire tickets for tomorrow night from some unlucky soul who cannot attend, Lee Kleinpeter of KRVS will be issuing a live broadcast.
