Acadiana Center for the Arts continues its Louisiana Crossroads series on Thursday and Friday with performances by Steve Earle.

Joel Savoy, Linzay Young and Dirk Powell join Earle on stage for the two performances on two consecutive evenings at 8 p.m in AcA's James. D. Moncus Theater. Earle has been an influential American singer-songwriter in the past several decades.

Earle is known for his folk style and political views that pay homage to his Texas heritage with its country western influences. In the latter half of his career Earle has written a few books, a play and poetry. In 2011 Earle released the novel I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive with a doctor protagonist who is haunted by the ghost of Hank Williams.

He has also drawn on his own experience as a drug addict to play an addict on the acclaimed TV series The Wire. He has also been on 30 Rock and Treme.
