Saint Street Inn gets a Brazilian

by Heather Miller

Krewe of Rio parade is this Saturday and eatery Saint Street Inn is serving it up smooth.

One of the best things about Mardi Gras is if done correctly the amount of walking you get in is spectacular. They say you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink - untrue at Mardi Gras where an endless amount of jackasses will stumble to the fun and drink all their pocketbooks can withstand. Saint Street Inn is just off of St. Mary and Johnson Street and in perfect stumbling distance from the Krewe of Rio parade.

Teaming up with Bayou Teche Bière, Valcour Records and Live in Louisiana, the Saint Street Carnival: Revelry de Rio will offer Courir de Mardi Gras beer and Brazilian BBQ and cocktails. Valcour will be there to sell its newest offering The Best of Valcour Records Vol. 1, which is a great gift to those who couldn't make it to hang out with you this festival season. Pine Leaf Boys Trio and Corey "Lil' Pop" Ledet perform.

Saint Street Inn is known for its strictly locally purveyed, French bistro-meets-its-South-Louisiana cousin fare. Food will be served up hot, fresh and local all night.

Admission to Carnival is free. Fun begins at 5 p.m. so join them before the parade, during or after. Or if you skip the parade altogether, hey, it's not like you don't have oodles of beads already at home.
