Scores of lucky revelers turned out Jan. 27 at Parc International for Festival International de Louisiane's pin party, noshing on treats and grooving to Vagabond Swing as the festival's crackerjack crew unveiled the pin for this year's event. The 26th annual festival - the best in the world, in this humble girl's opinion - takes over downtown Lafayette the week of April 23. At $10 a pop, the pins are a critical way to keep the festival free and in the wide-open downtown area of our beautiful city. The original artwork on which the pin is based was designed by Vergie Banks, Megan Barra and Michelle Fontenot. The festival poster, also unveiled at the gala, was designed by Anne and Curtis Darrah. I can't wait until April.
