Give a coat, warm a heart this weekend

The Blue Moon Saloon is hosting a special Two-Steppin’ Coat Drive to collect coats for the homeless and needy in Acadiana for the coming winter weather this Sunday, Nov. 15 at 5 p.m.

The Blue Moon Saloon is partnering with the Opelousas Lighthouse Mission to collect coats for the homeless and needy of Acadiana to help give warmth for the upcoming winter. The public is encouraged to dig into their closets for those old coats they haven’t worn in years and bring it down to the Blue Moon Saloon for an evening of dancing, arts and crafts, a silent auction and much more.

The drive is collecting coats of all sizes for men, women, and children. All proceeds will benefit the Opelousas Lighthouse Mission, St. Joseph’s Shelter, and Stella Maris Center.

There will also be live music from Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band along with the Pine Leaf Boys.

Admission is $10 with a coat donation and $15 without a coat donation. Gumbo will be available for purchase.

The Two-Steppin’ Coat Drive will be held on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. at the Blue Moon Saloon, located at 215 E. Convent St. in Downtown Lafayette. For more information visit www.OLMission.org/coatdrive or find the event on Facebook.
