“It is a point of pride throughout our organization that we still call Acadiana our home.” — LHC Group founder Keith Myers

LHC Group, a national home health and hospice provider based in Lafayette, celebrated its new corporate headquarters campus at 901 Hugh Wallis Road on Nov. 12.

The company is now leasing the entire building (which at one time housed AT&T), approximately 67,000 square feet, consolidating virtually all of its home office departments under one roof and increasing square footage by 20 percent. LHC Group noted in a press release that the complex gives it better access to major arteries like Highway 90, as well as to the Lafayette Regional Airport. The location now houses approximately 400 local employees, some of whom have relocated from offices at E. St. Mary Boulevard and Pinhook Road.

The Hugh Wallis Road office building is owned by Tra V LLC, whose officers are siblings Jovette Trahan Mosing, Chad Trahan and Todd Trahan, according to the Louisiana secretary of state's records.

LHC Group and its employees celebrated the opening of the company's new corporate headquarters on Hugh Wallis Road Nov. 12.

“The consolidation significantly reduces our overall cost and provides us with room for future expansion as our company continues to grow,” said Keith Myers, LHC Group chairman and CEO. “We believe this step will allow our Home Office employees to function as an even more efficient and cohesive team. We look forward to providing continued support for our clinicians and staff around the nation as they provide high quality health care to the patients and families we are blessed to serve.”

LHC Group was founded as a single freestanding home health agency in 1994. Since then, it has grown into a national publicly traded company and leader in its health care sector with more than 10,000 employees in 29 states.

At a ribbon cutting celebration, Chairman and CEO Keith Myers called the occasion a remarkable milestone for the company he and his wife, Ginger, started in rural St. Landry Parish. He also said how pleased LHC Group is to call Lafayette home, reiterating his long-held position that Lafayette is a place where large-scale companies can prosper.

“When we first took this company public, I was asked by an important industry analyst, ‘Where will you be moving the company headquarters — Atlanta, Dallas, Nashville?’” Myers said in the press release. “I was taken aback and a little insulted. Since then, we have demonstrated many times over that you can successfully run a national company from Lafayette. It is a point of pride throughout our organization that we still call Acadiana our home.”
