On the Move

Liz Webb Hebert joins Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital

Newly elected councilwoman named business development/marketing manager.

Liz Webb Hebert, who vowed before the October primary to resign from her Cajundome job if elected to the Lafayette City-Parish Council and went on to capture the District 8 seat in November, has landed a position with Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital. Beginning Jan. 5, Hebert will be the boutique surgical hospital’s business development/marketing manager.

Citing a potential conflict between her job and serving the district, Hebert confirmed on Sept. 21 that she planned to resign from her eight-year post as the Cajundome’s convention center sales manager if elected. Lafayette Consolidated Government has some budget oversight of the Cajundome.

“After working closely with the Louisiana Board of Ethics and the State Attorney General, it has become clear that I will not be able to do both," she said in a written statement at the time.

The Lafayette Parish native has more than 12 years of marketing/sales experience and is active in the community. She chairs the Lafayette Junior Leadership Program and is on the board of directors for the Leadership Institute of Acadiana. She has served on the board of the705 Young Professionals, is a past president of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana and has served as president of her homeowners’ association for the past six years.

Hebert was recognized in 2013 as one of the Daily Advertiser’s “Top 20 Young Professionals Under 40” and is a graduate of Leadership Lafayette, Class XXIII, in addition to serving as chairman of Leadership Lafayette. She is a graduate of Northwestern State University and Teurlings Catholic High School.
