Celebrating 20 years of helping Acadiana brides and grooms make their dream weddings a reality, The Independent’s Annual Bridal Show is happening Sunday, March 19. All the latest wedding trends will be on display, as our more than 50 vendors offer assistance with planning, execution and everything in between. Attendees can find everything they need—from wedding planners to DJs, flowers, cakes and attire—all in one place.

Venues will also be on hand ready to book your date at this premier prenuptial planning event, and several prizes, including the Grand Prize Honeymoon Package from Uniglobe Associated Travel, will be given away throughout the show. Brides are invited to spend the day with us, bringing their planners, grooms and moms along to book appointments and shop the show floor. We even have a new app that allows brides to go “beyond the booth” after the show.

Over the past two decades, The Independent’s Acadiana Bridal Show has grown with more vendors, more creative ideas and bigger and better prizes. Booths represented by caterers, photographers, florists, venues, registries, dress and tux shops, photo booths, bakers, transporters and more will be on display. Cake styles and samples are also available for tasting, while the latest styles in wedding gowns, accessories, tuxedoes and special occasion dresses make their way down the runway.

BEYOND THE BOOTH APP

Sponsored by Women’s & Children’s Hospital, a new app will make time spent at this year’s show more valuable than ever before for busy brides-to-be.

The app will take both vendors and prospective brides “beyond the booth” to create a digital goodie bag that is both instant and interactive. In a series of clicks, brides and their entourage can search, shop and pin the show vendors they like. This new app gives brides the convenience of registering on a portable digital platform and eliminates the need for filling out countless sign-up forms as they tour the show. It also allows vendors to get instant feedback from attendees to improve their presentation, marketing and overall experience.

“Getting married is an exciting experience filled with hope, love and dreams for a lifetime together,” says Kathy Bobbs, president and chief executive officer for Women’s & Children’s. “Women’s & Children’s Hospital is proud to sponsor the annual bridal show app and join in this exciting experience. When the newlyweds are ready to start a family of their own, we will be right here by their side, every step of the way to ensure that experience, too, is everything they dreamed.”

FASHION

A highlight of the event, our runway-style Fashion Show features trends, colors, fabric, trim and accessories for the entire party, including brides, mothers, grooms, bridesmaids and flower girls. See the latest trends as well as traditional favorites from vendors like David’s Bridal and Deshotels, with hair and makeup by Aveda and models provided by Images.

GRAND PRIZE HONEYMOON

Everyone who attends the show anticipates the drawing for the grand prize, and Uniglobe Associated Travel is once again sending one lucky couple on the honeymoon of their dreams. This year’s trip is a romantic vacation for two at Couples Resorts in Jamaica—airfare included. Accommodations for four days and three nights will be provided at Couples Tower Isle, Couples Sans Souci, Couples Negril or Couples Swept Away. Unlimited meals, snacks and gourmet dining prepared by award-winning chefs, along with unlimited drinks, use of sporting equipment, snorkeling, sailing, tennis, squash and SCUBA diving, are also included. Airfare includes two adults from Lafayette and roundtrip airport transfers to Montego Bay.

Every bride attending the show will be registered to win this unforgettable honeymoon prize. The drawing is held at the end of the show, and you need not be present to win.
