Pas Bon: 13 UL football players suspended amid theft probe

They’re accused of stealing personal items valued at $2,400 from a campus dorm room.

UL Ragin’ Cajuns head football coach Mark Hudspeth has apologized to the university community and fans after he placed 13 football players on indefinite suspension following their arrest on a theft charge. Multiple press accounts report that surveillance video captured the group — identified as Matthew Barnes, Joe Dillon, Robert Hunt, Denarius Howard, Jarvis Jeffries, LaDarrius Kidd, Terik Miller, Damar’ren Mitchell, Trey Ragas, Simeon Thomas, Levarious Varnado, D’Aquin Withrow and Jordan Wright — entering a fourth-floor dorm room in Huger Hall on campus and exiting with $2,400 worth of personal items.

The university declined to comment on the case, saying it is “being respectful of the judicial process.”
