Local vies for gospel award

Local gospel singer Bernadette Steven, known affectionately as Ms. Deannie, is up for a Female Gospel Artist of the Year award by the Gospel Sounds Radio Network.

Local gospel singer Bernadette Steven, known affectionately as Ms. Deannie, is up for a Female Gospel Artist of the Year award by the Gospel Sounds Radio Network, and we can help her win by logging on to the network's website and casting a vote.

A resident of Ridge in Lafayette Parish, Steven hosts the radio program "The Gospel Hotspot with Ms. Deannie" on Sundays from 9 a.m.-noon on KJCB Soul 770 AM. She's also currently the fourth most popular gospel recording artist at the music site Reverb Nation.
