Hub City drops the ball

Ring in 2013 at one of these NYE fetes.

Monday night marks the end of 2012 and if you're still looking for somewhere special to sip free champagne and spout off your resolutions for 2013, here are some suggestions.

Grant Street Dancehall is holding a New Year's Eve bash with performances from A Funk Band Named Machete, Selfawarewolf and Quale Manifold. Free champagne will be served at the stroke of midnight. Doors open at 8 p.m. with at admission at $7.

And across the street, The Greenroom will be handing out hats, tiaras and party favors for patrons passing through its doors Monday night as well as the traditional free champagne handout come midnight.

Further down the road, Jefferson Street Pub will be holding its 2nd Annual NYE Black & White Party. Guests are asked to dress their best and usher in the New Year while nibbling on dessert hors d'ouvres and clinging cups filled with free champagne to the sounds of DJ Hurricane. Doors open Monday night at 9 p.m. with admission at $10.

Bolt Nightclub will be holding its 2013 NYE White Party with baloon drop and free champagne once the clock stikes midnight. festivities begin at 7 p.m. with pre-sale tickets available at Bolt for $15 and $20 regular tickets available at the door.

The Performing Arts Society of Acadiana will also be hosting its own New Year's Eve cocktail party with food and complimentary frozen cosmos, beer, wine and a special champagne toast at midnight. Entertainment will be provided Krossfyre. Cocktail attire is requested and tickets are $100 a head. The shindig kicks off at 8 p.m. at 721 E. Kaliste Saloom Road. Vermilionville will welcome one and all for its New Year's Eve Dance with Geno Delafose & French Rockin' Boogie. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. for this smoke-free show with tickets running $35. For more information call 233-4077.

City Club at River Ranch will be holding its traditional New Year's Eve Gala Monday night starting at 9 p.m. Party favors and hors d'oeuvres will be served along with midnight champagne. Tickets are $60 and can be purchased by calling 216-6566.

And be sure to bring the little ones out for the Children's Museum of Acadiana will be celebrating its annual New Year's Noon where children and their families will ring in 2013 at the stroke noon on Monday. Events include a New Year's parade with High Steppers Brass Band starting at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Times Square style ball drop and after party. For more details call (713) 522-1138.

And further out in Acadiana, New Year's Eve celebrations will be held at McGee's Landing in Henderson, which include music from Al Berard et Les Filles and Balfa, Berard & Brunet, along with a pig roast. The fun starts at 7 p.m. with admission at $10. For more information call 228-2384.

NUNU's in Arnaudville is holding its own New Year Party on Saturday, Dec. 29, beginning at 8 p.m. Dance fodder will be provided courtesy of the sounds of the Art & Steve Deiorio Duo. Suggested donation is $10 and non-alcoholic refreshments will be sold. For more information call NUNU's at 453-3307.
