Launch Hour, held each day around lunchtime, is among the bevy of events being featured for this year's INNOV8 Lafayette.
At Tuesday's Launch Hour, Zachary Barker, a local business owner and president of the705, hosted a session that detailed the business philosophies/experiences of four Lafayette entrepreneurs - attorney Blake David, Techneaux Technology Services founder Ben Johnson, Postlethwaite & Netterville CPA Dan Gardiner, and PR guru Amy Jones of Jones Communications.
Each of the four panelists also shared their thoughts on Lafayette's economy, with Jones pointing out that uncertainty over health care reform is still a big factor for local business. Jones says creating a successful business model is unique to each business, noting the emerging role of contract workers, as opposed to a traditional full-time staff, as one mechanism small businesses can employ in not only surviving, but succeeding through the coming years.
Tuesday's installment of Launch Hour - which will continue throughout the week from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Acadiana Center for the Arts - was titled "Lessons from Business."
