Party Girl

Party Girl

As the year wound down, the crowd wound up at The Townhouse's New Year's Eve party. Hundreds of people gathered on the garden terrace to watch the clock tick away the final seconds of 2005, and when it did, the party heated up! Guests dined in the restaurant on a four-course dinner and then made their way outdoors to dance to the sounds of Cocodrie. Many never left the dancefloor, except to catch their breath and gather more party favors. At midnight, a mouthwatering buffet of Eggs Sardou, Stone Ground Country Grits, Acadian Pork Grillades, Pain Perdue and more gave guests the sustenance to keep on dancing. Wishing others a Happy New Year were the adorable Joey Domingue and twins Jared and Josh LeBlanc, Tanya and Kenneth Falterman, Mitch Kaufman, Jan and Terry Cromwell, Joan and Wayne Navarre and Vicki and Mark Moulis.

Also getting energized for the New Year were women at the Miles Perret Center's holiday Spa Night. The Acadiana School of Cosmetology offered up head to toe pampering with manicures and pedicures and scalp massages to women fighting cancer. The ladies were also treated to a Good Times trolley ride on the way to the school and received surprise gifts from Santa. "We hope the ladies who attended this special Spa Night will always have a pleasant memory of their 2005 holiday," says the Miles Perret Center's Kristie Carline. One of the women who attended, Devin Soeseno, is an old friend of Party Girl's. I wish you the best in 2006 Devin!

And taking the prize for the best office Christmas party of 2005 is BBR Creative. On the afternoon of Dec. 16, BBR's downtown office was shut down, and a trolley showed up loaded with drinks and holiday music. Staff members were handed $150 gift cards and told they were headed to the Mall of Acadiana to spend, spend, spend. They had an hour and a half to spend the money, with the stipulation that they could only buy things for themselves. After some reality show-style shopping, the trolley picked them back up and took them to Cathi Pavy's house, where they exchanged gifts. "Boots were the overwhelming gift items of choice, followed by perfume, a turkey cooker and jackets," says Moon Chang of BBR.
