Louisiana officials have sent a letter to the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene un-inviting members of the group who have recently been to ebola-affected West African countries from attending the group's annual conference in New Orleans next week.

Louisiana officials have sent a letter to the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene un-inviting members of the group who have recently been to ebola-affected West African countries from attending the group's annual conference in New Orleans next week, according to a Bloomberg report.

The letter was signed by Kathy Klieber, Louisiana's Secretary of Health & Hospitals and Kevin Davis, director of the Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness, in the letter.

"We do hope that you will consider a future visit to New Orleans, when we can welcome you appropriately ..." the letter reads in part.
