MAY 14 This post on The Intercept examines the "evolution" (so to speak) of Bobby Jindal's articulated views on the idea of "hyphenated Americans." Jindal used to brag about his Indian-American identity (he probably wanted to make sure nobody mistook him for a black guy) but now he's "railing" against the hyphenation, the post opines.

OFFICERS ACCUSED OF RAPE, CHILD PORN STILL ON NOPD FORCE
MAY 14 This investigative report from WDSU indicates that some things never change in New Orleans. The station's investigative team found that officers accused of heinous crimes - including rape and possession of child pornography - are still on the job. Initially (when the TV cameras are rolling, one assumes) the officers are placed on suspension without pay, but, WDSU found, they often are put back to work eventually. YIKES.

MAY 14 Here's an interesting post from the Advocate, reporting that the New Orleans Saints football team received about a half a million bucks to promote the military at their games. That's kind of creepy, but here's something that's downright insulting: the dirty birds got paid twice as much. WTH??
