You can now listen to George Orwell's 1984 or John Grisham's The Appeal online, in addition to several other titles. The Lafayette Public Library offers free audiobooks that can be downloaded through its online eMedia Catalog. Library patrons with a valid library card can check out titles ranging from fiction, non-fiction, foreign language, mystery, bestsellers, fantasy, romance, biography and science fiction. Patrons can check out five audiobooks at a time, and after 14 days the loaned audiobook expires and returns to the collection. Some titles can even be transferred to a MP3 player and burned to a CD.
