LQT Industries awarded three O/G projects

In a positive sign for a struggling oil patch, Broussard-based LQT Industries announced Tuesday contracts on three projects to fabricate and outfit modular buildings and specialty equipment for oil and gas operators.

According to a release, the projects include construction of a steel blast-rated control building for a major petrochemical facility operated by an Asian engineering group, construction and outfitting of multiple modular living quarters for an offshore platform in the Gulf of Mexico and fabrication of specialized equipment that will be utilized by a major offshore production company.

“LQT is pleased to announce these awards especially since 2 of the 3 awards are from first time customers,” says Blake Boudreaux, the company’s business development coordinator. “LQT continues to expand their customer base, both domestic and internationally. LQT’s industrial focus is gaining momentum with work in fire and safety, new build construction, and building and equipment rentals.”

The projects will be manufactured at the company’s fabrication facility in Abbeville.
