The Lafayette Habitat for Humanity is looking for families to move into a 12-home subdivision near Kaplan in rural Vermilion Parish. Six homes are currently under construction, and six more are to begin construction soon. The organization is seeking out households affected by the 2005 hurricanes that meet three criteria - need, ability to pay and willingness to help build the home with "sweat equity."
