Faulk: no contest on pot charge

by R. Reese Fuller

Yesterday New England Patriots running back Kevin Faulk pled no contest to possession of marijuana. According to KATC, FaulkĀ  was given a misdemeanor summons in February for having "four marijuana cigars" at a Lil' Wayne concert at the Cajundome. Faulk contended the coat he was wearing was someone else's, and hence the weed wasn't his. He later passed a drug test. In court yesterday, the Carencro native had his five-month jail sentence suspended and was given a year of supervised probation. He will pay a $300 fine, court costs and a fee for a drug test. He will also have to perform 40 hours of community service lecturing to kids in Lafayette Parish on the ills of drug use and complete a substance abuse program in which he's already enrolled.
