Everyone was helping Brittani Bass celebrate the Grand Opening of her new boutique and facial spa, o2 face and body, which is located in the Oil Center at 909 Harding St. Decorated in calming aquatic hues, this relaxing spa specializes in a unique treatment for the skin using hyperbaric oxygen to infuse vitamins and antioxidants deep into the skin. Celebrities including Madonna, Eva Longoria, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and many more use this treatment to keep their skin radiant and looking fresh. Guests enjoyed a variety of food and cold sangria spritzers on this hot July evening as toasts were given to congratulate this young entrepreneur. It was a fun, energetic evening to introduce this new business to the Lafayette community.

The wedding of Jim Keaty and Danielle Chastant took place at the timeless Academy of the Sacred Heart Chapel in Grand Coteau on a lovely summer afternoon. Danielle is the daughter of Dr. Bradley and Mary Chastant, and Jim is the son of Dr. William and Judge Phyllis Keaty. Following the ceremony, the country home of the bride’s parents was the site of the idyllic garden reception, which began with a Mardi Gras style parade. The flower girls and bride’s attendants (dressed as precious little fairies complete with wings!) and ring bearers led the wedding party in second line-fashion into the lush gardens, waving decorated black and white umbrellas and throwing bride and groom necklaces. Wayne Toups started to sing at sunset, and the guests didn’t stop dancing until the early morning. Old Fashions, the couple’s favorite drink, were the official drink of the entire night, and the guests were offered funnel cake as the reception was ending. Cigars with the couple’s initials along with monogrammed cigar matchboxes were handed to the guests as a reminder of the memorable celebration, which none of the guests will soon forget.
