Warner Bros. celebrates Brees

by Walter Pierce

Warner Bros. has teamed up with Saints quarterback Drew Brees to help raise funds for charity and at the same time celebrate the prolific passer eclipsing the 5,000-yard mark in the 2008 season.

“Catch Dat Brees” comes in both the form of a limited-edition lithograph and a hand-painted cell featuring Brees and Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny, Pepé Le Pew, Tasmanian Devil and Daffy Duck. Brees is the first football player to be paired with Warner Bros. characters in art, joining sports greats Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Wayne Gretzky and Derek Jeter as the only pro athletes to enjoy the honor.

Proceeds benefit the Brees Dream Foundation and New Orleans Saints Charities, both of which are focused on the continuing recovery of the Crescent City. The lithograph is $345; the hand-painted cell is $1,195. For details log on to Brees' Web site.
