Music Voyager's "Road to a Grammy" television show will be in Lafayette, filming Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole as they perform at the Blue Moon Saloon on Dec. 29. The Grammy-oriented special will feature a segment on Watson and his band. It will air in February 2010 on PBS & Nat Geo Music& Adventure Channel.
Watson is but one of several Acadiana residents who have been nominated for a Grammy award. Other nominees include Alligator Purse (Beausoleil Avec Michael Doucet), Lay Your Burden Down (Buckwheat Zydeco), Stripped Down (The Magnolia Sisters), and Live At 2009 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (Pine Leaf Boys). In addition, Lafayette’s own CC Adcock is nominated in the Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture or Television category with a whopping four songs on the True Blood Season One Soundtrack album.
