Langlinais recently filed an application with the state Department of Corrections Board of Pardons, asking for a governor's "gold seal pardon," according to The Daily Iberian. Evidentially Langlinais feels he has made restitution to the community after three years. He was originally sentenced to five years of hard labor, which was suspended, and five years of supervised probation.
Langlinais must schedule a hearing, possibly in the next several months, and go before the pardon board to make the request. The board sends a recommendation to the governor. Should he receive a pardon, the conviction will be expunged from Langlinais' record.
