The Vermilion River crossing on Surrey Street near the airport is out of service for the next month. The Vermilion River crossing on Surrey Street near Vermilionville and Lafayette Regional Airport was closed for repairs Monday morning. The bridge is expected to be out of commission for a month as crews shore up the approaches to the bridge and make other emergency repairs.
Motorists wishing to get from westbound Pinhook Road to southbound U.S. 90/Evangeline Thruway will need to detour to University Avenue because a left turn from Pinhook onto the Thruway is prohibited (see detour map).
