La. tech company suing 'Net bigs

Lake Charles-based Transcenic is asking a Delaware district court to prohibit Google, Microsoft and others from further infringing on its patent.

A Louisiana company is pursuing a patent infringement suit against Internet giants Google and Microsoft over the use of street-level navigating software used in Google's Streetview and Earth programs and in Microsoft Streetside. Lake Charles-based Transcenic is asking a Delaware district court to prohibit the two defendants from further infringing on its patent. Transcenic is also seeking undisclosed monetary damages. AOL and MapQuest are also named as defendants in the suit.
