O&G decision-makers flying in for a day of LAGCOE

by Leslie Turk

Houston oil reps can take LAGCOE in and be home before the sun goes down.

Thanks to the efforts of Lafayette native William Flores Jr., oil and gas industry decision-makers are flown by commercial jet to LAGCOE from Houston and back in the same day.

This Louisiana oil and gas engineering executive told media reps Monday that his first-hand experience of relocation to Houston made him realize the need to keep professionals connected to LAGCOE.

"LAGCOE is one of the largest oil and gas expositions in our country, offering the latest solutions for both onshore and offshore exploration and production," said Flores, who is senior vice president of engineering for Houston Energy L.P. "Companies benefit when their engineers learn about solutions showcased by world class companies and speakers there. It just made good sense to help Houston companies take advantage of this nearby exposition in one day."

Nine sponsoring companies, along with LAGCOE, make the Tuesday and Wednesday flights possible: Baker Hughes Inc., Cameron International Corp., Chevron, ExxonMobil, Frank's Casing Crew & Rental Tools, Halliburton, Knight Oil Tools, National Oilwell Varco and Shell. "These nine companies recognize the value LAGCOE holds for our industry and invite their clients or offer flights to selected employees to take one day out of the office and bring home productive knowledge," Flores added.

LAGCOE is slated for Oct. 2527 at the Cajundome and Convention Center. Read more about the show and the industry in the next issue of ABiz, out on newsstands and direct mailed to Acadiana decision-makers Oct. 19.
