The sinners came out to play nice, and the saints tucked growing horns under costumes at the first Acadiana Center for the Arts' Saints & Sinners Bash on Nov. 3. Most people came in costume, and many in fine masquerade style, hiding their faces under masks and using this as a last chance after Halloween to play dress up. Money raised through ticket sales went to benefit AcA's growing lists of art showings and performances. New Orleans' cover band Bag of Donuts, also in costume, played the crowd's favorite songs in the James D. Moncus Theater, which was done up in blacks and reds to resembles something more like Dante's Inferno than a state-of-the-art performance space. A tarot card reader told fortunes, and there was a photo booth to remember the evening and auctions for the highest bidder to win local art and vacations.
