ABiz's 2017 Top 50 Luncheon

The 2017 ABiz Top 50 Luncheon, held Aug. 16 at the Cajundome Convention Center, not only honored Acadiana’s largest privately held companies but also served as a benefit for Moncus Park, the Johnston Street passive park set to get underway later this year.

Half of the luncheon's ticket sales were donated to the project, which has been largely funded through the generosity of Lafayette businessman Jim Moncus. Through the end of 2017, all donations (up to a half million dollars) will be matched by local business execs Kip Schumacher and Carolyn Doerle Schumacher, which means ABiz's approximately $12,000 gift became a $24,000 donation to Lafayette Central Park, the nonprofit responsible for the park's development.
