Faith House school supply drive on July 22

Faith House conducts the "Load the Bus" school supply drive on Thursday, July 22. In addition to providing safe housing, food, clothing, health screening and a host of other things, Lafayette’s Faith House is conducting a school supply drive this week. On Thursday, July 22, The Faith House is asking for donations of various school supplies to their Load the Bus drive, which seeks to fill an entire bus with school materials for kids in the coming year. The drop off spot for supplies will be the Fairfield Inn & Suites from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on July 22. Look for the school bus parked in the parking lot.

Some of the supplies needed are:

Notebooks – 1, 3, & 5 subject

Marble composition books

Booksacks (non-rolling)

Pens – black, blue, and red ink only

Pencils

Erasers

Markers

Pencil Sharpeners

3-ring binders

Wide ruled loose leaf paper

Pencil bags

Scissors

Rulers

Pocket folders

Manila folders

Dry erase markers

Glue sticks

Highlighters

Water color paints

Construction paper

Kleenex

Paper towels

No bottled glue, please… we already have so much of this!

 

FAITH_HOUSE_DRIVE

Faith House is a private, non-profit program for survivors of domestic violence and their children. The program has five components: a shelter, a non-residential program, an outreach program, a 24-hour crisis line and a public education program. Our 45-bed facility accepts female victims of domestic violence and their minor children.

Faith House receives funding from the Governor’s Office on Women’s Policy, United Way of Acadiana, United Way of St. Landry, federal and state governments, the Lafayette Consolidated Government, the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement, the Louisiana Bar Foundation, and individuals, businesses and groups from the community.
