Pack and Paddle’s biannual outdoor gear garage sale happens Saturday, Oct. 26 at 8 a.m. — if you’re hoping to snag some top notch used gear, you better get there early as crowds line up around 6:30 a.m. to be the firsts to pick up hot items. What’s all the fuss you ask? Well, the biannual event hosted by the outdoor outfitter is a great way to upgrade your camping and hiking gear or to get back into nature.
Anyone can drop off used gear to sell — you name the price on your old tents, kayaks, canoes, sleeping bags, clothes and whatever else you can think of. The deadline for gear drop off is 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25. Sellers price and leave their items and in return can either receive full compensation of sale in store credit or 75 percent of item sale in cash.
While at the garage sale, shoppers can enjoy coffee from The Lab Handcrafted Coffees and Comforts and also learn more about upcoming events like paddle and backpack trips. It’s a great way to get the family together and plan some camping trips for fall’s cooler temps and experience the beauty of the outdoors in Acadiana.
