The sun is shining and the birds are singing — soon you will gather your crew to dye eggs and go on a hunt for hidden treasures in a field of wildflowers and knee-high grass. Before you put those precious floral print dresses and white sandals on your young ones, throw together a few of these treats for indulging after the egg-citing activities have come to an end:

Carrot patch cookies resemble a tiny, yet edible garden made from a base of sugar wafer cookies, frosting and gummy candies. Don’t forget to add a spoonful of smashed chocolate cookie crumbs to give your sugary garden that fresh turned dirt look. Click here for the full recipe.

Marshmallows are always a hot Easter treat that come in shapes like bunnies and chickens. Grab a few boxes of Peeps, some bags of fun pastel marshmallows and kabob sticks to start making custom confections for friends. Step up your candy land creations by dipping your marshmallows in white chocolate and topping with sprinkles and colored sugar. When you’re done, bag them in cellophane and seal with a twist tie for passing out to guests. Read more about creating these fluffy treats.

And finally, one for the kids at heart — chocolate covered “carrots.” Don’t worry, it’s actually strawberries, but dye your white dipping chocolate orange with a few dabs of food coloring to create a bite any bunny would want to nibble on.
