Cardiovascular Institute of the South has opened a new clinic at 803 Poinciana Avenue in Mamou. Dr. Fernando Arzola, a cardiologist with CIS for more than 17 years, having previously served as medical director at the CIS Raceland clinic, is seeing patients at the Mamou clinic. Arzola previously practiced as a cardiologist at the CIS Opelousas clinic and held the title of chief of the department of medicine at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. The CIS clinic in Mamou is a result of a partnership between CIS and Savoy Medical Center to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care to the Mamou area.
Lorin LeBlanc has joined MidSouth Bank as chief information officer. A Crowley native, LeBlanc has 27 years of technical and managerial experience at community and regional banks. For the past nine years, he worked as information systems manager for Fidelity Homestead Savings Bank in New Orleans. In his new role, LeBlanc is assessing the feasibility of integrated projects and ensuring that solutions comply with the bank's strategic goals. LeBlanc has a BS from the University of Alabama. He completed the Precision Electronic Maintenance Program at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver and a one-year vocational-technical course in IT at EDI Institute in New Orleans.
Neal Manuel, a longtime RN and former surgery department director, is now associate chief nursing officer for the Regional Medical Center of Acadiana. Manuel assists nursing leadership in establishing and enforcing policies at the facility, the first in Acadiana to receive Cycle III Chest Pain Accreditation through the Society of Chest Pain Centers. Manuel earned an associate degree in nursing from LSU-E and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Graceland University in 1991 before completing a master's in administration from Central Michigan University. He received the Frist Humanitarian Award in 1998, was named one of the top 25 nurses in Acadiana in 2009, holds certifications in med-surg nursing and critical care nursing and is board-certified as an advanced nurse executive.
Paul A. Durand, president and CEO of St. Martin Bank and Trust, was appointed to serve as Louisiana representative on the American Bankers Association's Government Relations Council Administrative Committee. Committee members are appointed by the ABA chairman for one year, and there is typically one representative from each state. The committee plays a critical role in ABA's decision-making process by developing recommendations for its board on positions and priorities relating to legislative and regulatory issues. Committee members also provide a forum for discussion and debate on policy issues facing the banking industry. Committee members serve as essential advocates of ABA's policy positions before members of the legislative and executive branches and related agencies, local media and fellow bankers.
Nicole DesOrmeaux, a senior accountant at Fenstermaker, passed her fourth and final exam to become a CPA. With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, DesOrmeaux specializes in financial accounting and reporting. Employed by Fenstermaker since December 2003, she has a BS in business administration from UL. In other Fenstermaker news, the company was honored with a MarCom Gold Award, print design category, for its Holiday Client Giving Card Campaign. Guided by the Community Foundation of Acadiana and the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, Fenstermaker launched the program to promote sharing and charity during the holiday season.
Cicely Ozen has been promoted to credit analyst in the commercial lending department at FM Bank. She has been with the bank for five years, previously serving as operations assistant and loan administrative assistant. She has a BA in economics and finance from Dillard University. Ozen previously was a volleyball coach at St. Genevieve School. Also at the bank, Destiney Webb has been named manager/consumer loan officer for the banking center in the Breaux Bridge Walmart. She previously was teller and assistant manager at the Walmart branch. She is an alumna of Nicholls State University where she studied accounting. The Breaux Bridge native worked with the Walmart/Sam's organization prior to joining the FM Bank. Also promoted was Andy Chautin. He is now Arnaudville branch manager/loan officer. Chautin, who has been with FM Bank since 2008, most recently was manager of the Walmart branch in Breaux Bridge. He is a 2005 UL Monroe graduate and also earned a master's degree in English from UL Lafayette. He currently serves as Arnaudville Chamber of Commerce president. Chautin and Brittany Theriot, the bank's information systems officer/director, recently completed the 2011 Leadership School offered by the Louisiana Bankers Association.
