Naquin golf tourney rescheduled

The Wetlands Golf Course is living up to its name.

The Wetlands Golf Course is living up to its name - it's flooded in places due to recent heavy rains. As a result, Cajun musician and City-Parish Council Kevin Naquin has been forced to reschedule his annual Kevin Naquin Pancreatic Research Golf Tournament for a week. Originally scheduled for today, the event has been moved to next Friday, June 6, same location. Naquin tells us there are still openings for teams to sign up and compete.

Registration is $450 for a three-player team or $150 for individuals who will be paired with a team. The registration fee covers car, green fee, food and a giddy bag. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with a shotgun start to follow at noon.

Last year's event raised $20,000 for pancreatic cancer research, a topic close to Naquin, whose father was diagnosed with the disease. The event is free to the public and donation checks can be made payable to Kevin Naquin for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 220 Symphony Place, Duson, LA 70529 EIN# 46-1654960.
