The Local Pantry at Brick & Spoon

Pop in at the pop up

Brick & Spoon's parking lot transforms into a market while the restaurant hosts locally-sourced menu and guest chefs.

What happens when you mix one part dinner party with a dash of local market vendors and a sprinkling of live music? Well, if you're at Brick & Spoon on Kaliste Saloom Road on a Tuesday you get The Local Pantry: A Pop Up.

At 5 p.m. you'll find the parking lot transforms into a small scale farmers market full of produce and artisan goods while the kitchen and dining room of Brick & Spoon take a break from the daily menu and guest chefs invade with creations of their own.

Tonight is the third installation of the concept and chefs include Megan Bentley of Bread & Circus, Mike Field of Brick & Spoon and Toby Rodriguez of Lache Pas Boucherie. Many Silver from POUR will serve as mixologist and musicians Hunter DeBlanc and Cory Landry will perform.

Coq au vin and osso bucco are some of the dishes on the menu for the event and ingredients have been sourced from area producers like Market Basket Farm in Youngsville for produce and Belle Ecorce Farms for cheeses.

Those looking for more information on all the specifics of the meal and the sources should head over to The Local Pantry and meet the chefs - this talented team is more than glad to talk shop. For additional information, contact Brick & Spoon restaurant at 504-2346.
