The Blake at Lafayette will offer 110 apartments for seniors.
A massive, 93,000-square-foot retirement community is under construction on a 4-acre site on Polly Lane. The Blake at Lafayette, a $17 million project that will create 70 full-time jobs when it opens next summer, is owned by Alabama-based Quality Senior Living and will be operated by its affiliate, Blake Management Group of Jackson, Miss.
Located at 400 Polly Lane - the intersection of Kaliste Saloom Road and Polly Lane - The Blake will offer 110 apartments with "resort-style amenities," creating a community for independent living, assisted living and memory care residents.
According to Blake Management Group, the facility offers fine and casual dining with indoor and courtyard sitting areas, a bar and lounge, a coffee shop, bistro and ice cream parlor, salon, massage and spa services, outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy, 24-hour nursing and medication management, a sunlit chapel, custom putting greens and outdoor activity courts, a theatre room, landscaped courtyards with an outdoor fire pavilion, fountains, raised gardens, a business center, library, fitness center and a general store.
Construction is under way on a 93,000-square-foot retirement community at Polly Lane and Kaliste Saloom Road.
"We saw an opportunity to meet Lafayette's need for a new hospitality and wellness-centered continuing care retirement community, providing residents the ability to age in place knowing the care will be there when they need it," Glenn Barclay, COO of Blake Management Group, said in a press release.
The Blake at Lafayette will be the company's fifth Blake location in the Gulf South. The company has locations in Gulf Breeze, Fla., Flowood and Ridgeland, Miss., and Daphne, Ala.
GTF Design of Bedford, Texas, is the architect on the local project, and JB Mouton (an ABiz Top 50 Privately Held Company) is the general contractor.
