EatLafayette Dish of the Day: Charley G's Wood grilled mahi mahi

by Kari Walker

Fragrant basil and refreshing watermelon blend with fresh fish

Charley G's is known for tender beef cooked over southern hardwoods, but don't miss the equally divine seafood dishes prepared in a similar fashion. The wood grilled mahi mahi dish is one of those seafood options well-worth trying - it's one of the latest additions to the Charley G's summer menu.

The grilled fish comes served on top of a watermelon and feta cheese relish with a drizzle of basil and mint pesto - one bite will help you forget about the sweltering summer heat outside as you experience a refreshed feeling from the dish's flavors.

During EatLafayette, Charley G's is offering a special two course menu with wine pairing - $30 gets you a choice of Caesar salad, duck and andouille gumbo or the seasonal soup and a surf and turf entrée of a petite filet and crab cake with smashed potatoes and creole green beans. Add on a glass of Pinot Noir for $6.

Make reservations today for a casual yet upscale evening at Charley G's and get ready to sip on cocktails and enjoy the sounds of live piano music filling the air.
