Cox Homelife announced for Acadiana

by Wynce Nolley

Cox Communications now offers home security in Acadiana.

Cox Communications is adding home security to the list of digital services it offers in Acadiana. The home security and automation product, dubbed Cox Homelife, offers a wide range of security and advanced smart home features designed to help customers manage their residences.

“Customers trust Cox each day to connect them to the things they care about. For most people, home and family are at the top of that list. Cox Homelife is a natural extension of the communications services we deliver,” says Jacqui Vines, senior vice president and region manager for the Cox Southeast Region.

The 24/7 secure monitoring and home management systems features intrusion and home safety monitoring for fire, gas and flood; secure video monitoring/recording and overall remote access to the system through a computer or smartphone app; email and text alerts to notify customers of occurrences at the home; safety sensors to detect hazardous conditions like carbon monoxide and smoke; home control functions for lighting and temperature and customizable sound notifications for every door in the home.

According to company officials, Homelife was first piloted in Arizona in 2011 and has since rolled out across the company’s other markets in the past few of years. Demonstrations of the Homelife service are available in the company’s Solutions Stores and online at Cox.com/homelife.
