EARLY PLATFORM: I HATE GAY PEOPLE
MAY 20 The Hill posts Bobby Jindal's new Iowa ad here. In it, Jindal seems to be pinning his hopes on the concept of allowing discrimination against gay people (and, possibly, anyone else who does not fit in with a set of requirements - like, perhaps, based on the folks in this spot, people of color?) as his standard. Wow.

THE UL SOFTBALL VIDEO THAT'S GOING VIRAL
MAY 20 Here's the AL.com story about the patriotic incident that occurred at a UL Softball game recently. Because of a shortage of time, the crowd was told there wouldn't be a National Anthem sung. So the crowd, being a bunch of Cajuns (the people who got kicked out of two - count 'em two - countries for refusing to do what they were told) sang the song anyway.

BOBBY ISSUING EXECUTIVE ORDER TO ALLOW PEOPLE TO BE JERKS
MAY 20 Huff Post takes a look at Bobby Jindal's go-to move: refusing to accept reality because it doesn't align with his view of how things should go. In this case, he's going to use an executive order to allow his chosen people to be asshats to other people without (ostensibly) consequences. The bill to allow that died in committee, so Jindal's going to use the (probably illegal - at least that's what he said when Obama did it) order to accomplish the same thing.

WE ALL SUFFER FOR BOBBY'S AMBITIONS - EVEN BOBBY?
MAY 20 This is a fascinating post from Zack Kopplin about Bobby Jindal, presidential ambitions and creationism. Seems Zack's family has known Bobby for years - and so they know who he really is, or was, or should have been - it's hard to get that right. It makes you wonder: we all know how much Louisiana has suffered on the funeral pyre of Jindal's ambition - but hasn't he as well?

WELL THIS IS A GOOD USE OF THEIR TIME
MAY 20 This post on the Picayune about how our legislators haze the freshmen is entertaining -- until you remember that they're being paid, by us, to do our business. Maybe this is why we're crowding a $2 billion deficit?

MAY 20 Here's an interesting post in an Omaha paper about a Zydeco festival scheduled up there. They have some great musicians on the bill, and use this description to tell people what the music is: "Zydeco is a hybrid of blues, R&B, soul, reggae and rock that has a distinct Creole feel."
Wednesday's Blogs from the Bog!
Bobby seems to have settled on a platform, and it's that he hates gay people. (They can't vote, right?) Also today, see the UL video that's gone viral and read an interesting take on Bobby's sale of his soul.
