SLCC offering private eye course

Community college’s CE department will train students to become licensed P.I.s beginning Nov. 6.

South Louisiana Community College wants to license you to snoop.

The Continuing Education Department at SLCC says in a press release that it is offering a private eye course in November that will train students to become licensed private investigators.

Class participants will learn how information is gathered and used in the investigative process, obtain basic investigative skills, and prepare for the state's Private Investigator Exam. This course is required by law for a state private investigator’s license.

The training manual will be provided on the first night of class for a fee of $30 to be paid by check or money order. An additional fee of $50 will be required to take the Louisiana Private Investigator Exam on the last day.
Average hourly salary for private investigators in the Acadiana region is $27.36.

The class meets on Fridays from 6-10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dates are Nov. 6 - Nov. 15. (Two weekends)

Course fee is $350, and course instructor is Ed Roy.
