Top 50

Seeking Top 50 private company nominations Nomination forms are due June 5.

Annual feature spotlighting local companies having the biggest impact on the region returns July 15.

Let’s be honest: Many companies in the Acadiana region were hard hit by the decline in oil prices last year, a factor that has a domino effect throughout much of the economy — regardless of whether a business is directly tied to the oil and gas industry.

But every one of these business men and women are working hard to emerge from the downturn, and it’s unquestionable that some of them will be even stronger and smarter for the experience.

As ABiz does annually, we will again celebrate these companies’ successes and struggles, their contributions to the community and the impact they have on the region in our Top 50 Private Companies issue July 15. We are collecting nominations, and companies have already begun returning their completed forms to us. Companies are ranked based on 2015 revenues.

This seventh annual Top 50 list of private companies will run as a cover story, along with profiles of several of these local companies. We will also include a list of the locally headquartered publicly traded companies, also ranked by annual revenues.

Last year, Schumacher Group ranked No. 1 with $675 million in 2014 revenues.

ABiz is requesting that privately owned companies headquartered in Lafayette, Acadia, Evangeline, St. Landry, Iberia, St. Martin, St. Mary, Jeff Davis and Vermilion parishes submit this form to BOTH Leslie Turk at [email protected] and Erin Z. Bass at [email protected] to qualify. Please put “Top 50” and your company name in the subject line of the e-mail. Companies will be ranked by annual revenues. For more information, call Leslie at 337-769-8606. Please return your forms by June 5, 2016.

We respectfully request voluntary participation. However, in order to present as comprehensive a list as possible, we will utilize various research tools and resources to include companies that may be unwilling to disclose the requested information.

Additional information about the Top 50 luncheon will be announced soon.
