Downtown Alive, The Revelers, need we say more?

by Amy Dupuis

Grammy-nominated swamp poppers to perform Downtown Alive! Friday.

Friday night starting at 6 p.m. in Parc San Souci, Downtown Alive! will present the 2016 Grammy Award-nominated swamp pop band The Revelers. This six-member group is composed of founding members of the Red Stick Ramblers and The Pine Leaf Boys with Daniel Coolik on fiddle/guitar, Glen Fields on drums, Blake Miller, accordion and fiddle, Chas Justus, guitar, Eric Frey, bass and Chris Miller, saxophone.

The Revelers combine Cajun, country, blues and zydeco into a powerful tonic of roots music straight from southwest Louisiana — perfect dancing music.

The final two DTA performances are May 6 with the Boogie Kings at Parc Sans Souci and May 13 when Nathan & The Zydeco Cha-Chas take the stage at Parc International. No more excuses; this is the time to get out and dance!

DTA! begins at 5:30 p.m. with food and beverage concessions; musical performances from 6.-8:30 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.downtownlafayette.org.
