Boustany, Ernest, Bernard Marcantel & David Marcantel named LBF fellows

Roya Boustany, an assistant district attorney with the 15th JDC district attorney’s office; George D. “Dave” Ernest III, an attorney with Hurlburt, Monroe & Ernest in Lafayette; and Bernard N. Marcantel and David E. Marcantel, attorneys with Marcantel, Marcantel, Wall & Pfeiffer in Jennings, have been named fellows of the Louisiana Bar Foundation.

Fellowship consists of judges, lawyers and law professors whose professional, public and private careers demonstrate their dedication to the improvement of the administration of justice. Benefits of fellowship include recognition of contributions to the profession, alliance with the foundation’s mission, association with an organization directly impacting the legal profession, committee participation and leadership, professional development and networking and participation in annual nominations for Louisiana’s distinguished jurist, attorney and professor awards.

The nonprofit LBF is the largest state funder of legal aid, supporting programs that provide free legal services for the poor in all 64 parishes. Since 1989, the LBF has distributed approximately $71 million throughout Louisiana to help address the legal needs of indigent citizens, provide a basic understanding of the law and assist with improvements to the justice system.
