B&G Food buys nine Lafayette Taco Bells

Morgan City-based franchisee now operates more than 100 Taco Bell restaurants in Louisiana, Texas (primarily the Houston area) and southern Mississippi.

Morgan City-based B&G Food Enterprises, a Taco Bell franchisee, has acquired nine Lafayette-area locations from Taco Bell corporate, stmarynow.com reports.

B&G now operates more than 100 Taco Bell restaurants in Louisiana, Texas (primarily the Houston area) and southern Mississippi. The company was founded in 1982 by Brenda and Greg Hamer, who opened their first Taco Bell in Morgan City, where a support center and administrative offices are still located.

Over the years, B&G has grown to become the 92nd largest restaurant franchisee in the U.S. and the largest Taco Bell operator in Louisiana. The company has more than 2,400 employees.
