As campaign gets uglier, Angelle enjoys huge money advantage

In the most recent campaign finance report, Public Service Commissioner Scott Angelle has 12 times as much money at his fingertips than ex-lawman Clay Higgins.

Scott Angelle should be mopping up the floor with Clay Higgins. The most recent federal campaign finance reports show the public service commissioner and former natural resources secretary with a wide financial advantage over runoff competitor Clay Higgins, a former sheriff’s deputy.

The most recent Federal Elections Commission filings for the period ending Nov. 20 show Angelle with nearly $413,000 cash on hand. Higgins’ report shows $34,104. That’s a slightly more than 12-fold advantage for Angelle.

For more on the race, which despite Angelle’s huge cash advantage is, according to The Advocates’s Mark Ballard, a toss-up.
