Two plead in wire fraud conspiracy case

Randy LeBlanc and Jahorae Johnson, both of New Iberia, are facing 20 years in prison each for their role in ripping off their employer, Acme Trucking Lines.

Two New Iberia men are facing up to 20 years each behind bars after pleading guilty in federal court to wire fraud conspiracy.

According to U.S. Attorney Stephanie A. Finley's office, 33-year-old Randy LeBlanc pleaded to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud for his role in creating fake invoices in his role as a driver and later dispatcher for Acme Trucking Lines. The feds say LeBlanc personally benefitted from the scheme to the tune of $220,000.

Jahorae Johnson, 38, also pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy, also for submitting false invoices. Johnson absconded with $96,000 in trucking company money, according to the press release issued by Finley's office.

LeBlanc and Johnson are scheduled to be sentenced May 5.
