Native of Eunice, Louisiana, Geno Delafose is a zydeco accordionist and singer. He began playing washboard with his late father, John Delafose, and continues to expand on his father's legacy. Delafose was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2007 for "Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album" and is recognized for his sound rooted in traditional Creole music with influences from Cajun music as well as country and western music.

Buckwheat Zydeco Tribute: The Ils Sont Partis Band featuring Sir Reg

Accordionist and zydeco musician from Lafayette, Buckwheat Zydeco was one of the few zydeco artists to achieve mainstream success. His music group performed at the closing ceremonies of the 1996 Summer Olympics to a worldwide audience of three billion people. Buckwheat Zydeco even performed at both of President Clinton’s Inaugurals. Although Buckwheat died on September 26, 2017, his band will be playing a tribute to him at Festival International. Buckwheat Zydeco and The Ils Sont Partis Band claim the three largest selling Zydeco albums.
