Big Hair is Back!

The Ind's Popular Fantasy Hair Show Hits the AcA Stage Aug. 27.**

The extraordinary creative energies of six Lafayette hair salons will explode on stage at the new Acadiana Center for the Arts Theatre during The Independent Weekly's Big Hair 'Do Ball & Benefit. Co-presented this year by The AcA, it's the city's most astonishing fashion event and takes place next Friday, Aug. 27. The VIP preview reception starts at 6:30 p.m. Doors open to the general public at 7:30 p.m., and the show will start at 8:30 p.m.
Artists from six salons will weave their magic through the tresses of models representing different fantasy themes chosen by each team of stylists.

Salon sponsors this year include Salon Nivag, Cabelo, The Color Bar, Suave House Beauty Salon, Salon Indigo and Jagged Edge. Guests are encouraged to compete for prizes for Tallest Hair, Wildest Style, Best Group and Best Do. Other sponsors include Moss Motors, Acadiana Security Plus, Sir Speedy Printing, Event Rental, HOT 107.9 and KTDY-FM. Show producer is the team of Bob Pastor & Company.

In addition to the high-energy runway show, ticket-holders will be treated to hors d'oeuvres from several of the city's leading restaurants and an after-show dance party. A limited number of VIP tickets are available with extra perks, including a preview reception, reserved seating and complimentary cocktails. Supporting restaurants this year include Tsunami, Artmosphere, Poupart's, Prejean's, Crowne Plaza, Jolie's Louisiana Bistro, Don's Seafood, Don's Seafood Hut and a la Carte. A cash bar will be available, as will complimentary styling stations for those who want to add a little something extra to their own 'do at the event.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit PASA - The Performing Arts Society of Acadiana. VIP tickets are limited at $75 each. General admission tickets are $45 each.
