Game Update: Cajuns 19, Aztecs 10

NEW ORLEANS Like lightning, Blaine Gautier, Javone Lawson and Ladarius Green struck with very little warning early in the third quarter of the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. And because of them, UL broke out to a 19-3 lead only one minute into the second half.

Gautier hit Lawson with a 50-yard strike on the half's second play to the San Diego State 20, and on the next play he hit tight end Green on a crossing route for a 20-yard touchdown. The quick three-play, 73-yard drive gave the Cajuns the 16-point lead.

This time, though, SDSU came right back. Brandon Davis returned the ensuing kickoff to the UL 41, and four plays later quarterback Ryan Lindley hit Colin Lockett with a 16-yard scoring pass that cut the margin back to nine points. The touchdown call came after a video replay after the original ruling had Lockett down inside the 1.
