A trendy line of athletic shoes popular with the youngsters is facing the wrath of old people who just don't get youngsters. The Vermilion Parish School System, according to VermilionToday.com, is banning Fila Skele-toe sneakers from campuses this coming school year. Somehow, principals have safety concerns about the shoes, which retail for around $30 and are essentially a shoe version of toe socks.

Some board members, according to VermilionToday, were skeptical the shoes pose a health hazard. A style hazard, yes, but not a health hazard.
